The Accel Origin (Japanese: アクセルオリジン) is a yo-yo released in Japan by Bandai in July 2024 as a launch product of the new Hyper Yo-Yo Accel line.
Features[]
The Accel Origin features a unique side cap bearing system called the "Accel System", which uses two large side caps called "Accel disks" that can rotate independently from the body of the yo-yo. Because of the large side caps, it is very easy to hold the yoyo horizontally on one of the side caps without having to balance it with your finger. It is also advertised as "the easiest yo-yo to perform the DNA trick with".
The Accel Origin has a body shape reminiscent of those Russell Coca-Cola yo-yos from the '80s and '90s. Because of this, it is possible (but difficult) to grip the yoyo on one of the bulged sidecaps and perform tricks such as the horizontal DNA and the AND.
The yo-yo could spin for a long time thanks to its included three metal ball bearings. However, the thin gap between the yo-yo halves meant that looping and string tricks are very difficult to do (unless you replace the string with a thinner one).
This yo-yo was marketed toward elementary schoolers and beginners who have no prior yo-yoing experience. It is good enough for performing your basic yo-yo tricks, but it is designed to be able to perform a new set of tricks called "Accel Tricks" (listed on Bandai's official Hyper Yo-Yo webpage) that utilize the side cap bearings.
It came in various colors, each having its own unique print design and aesthetic, from fantasy, to sports, to music fashion, to even 8-bit.

HYPER YOYO ACCEL (2024)[]
This is a Hyper Yo-Yo line which comes with a new feature called the "Accel System", that has been patented in Japan and the US. It allows you to spin the main unit at high speed without throwing it by pulling the string vigorously while holding the main unit in your hand. By utilizing this feature, new tricks that could not be reproduced with conventional yo-yos are possible.

- Family Mart Navy (Family Mart Exclusive) - released on March 27, 2025. It is an exclusive Family Mart-themed design with a clear navy blue body. It is only available for purchase at Family Mart convenience stores in Japan.
- Dragonic Devil - to be released on April 28, 2025, the same day as the launch of the first volume of the Hyper Yo-Yo Accel manga. Variant of Dragonic Red with a translucent black body and gold-colored lettering. It is only included in special editions of the first volume of the manga.
