The Menehune was Buzz-On's first undersized yo-yo, consisting of an undersized plastic body with inset aluminum weight rings. The Menehune, along with the Element X Pro introduced SPR, an interchangeable response system which combines the bearing spacers with the response pads. The Menehune originally came with non-engraved rings, but later versions had engravings.
It originally came with a small SPR set-up, which featured a B-sized bearing. Also released in 2007 exclusively at Yoyoguy.com is the Menehune 2, which featured a medium SPR system that has an A-bearing like those in Duncan Hardcore series yo-yos such as the FHZ and the Flying Panda.
The Menehune's body design was also used as the basis for the ill-fated DV8.
