The Menehune, along with the Element X Pro introduced SPR, an interchangeable response system which combines the bearing spacers with the response pads. The Menehune originally came with non-engraved rings, but later versions had engravings.

It originally came with a small SPR set-up, which featured a B-sized bearing. Also released in 2007 exclusively at Yoyoguy.com is the Menehune 2, which featured a medium SPR system that has an A-bearing like those in Duncan Hardcore series yo-yos such as the FHZ and the Flying Panda.
