Dale Oliver is the founder and president of the Spintastics skill toy company. He is one of the four U.S. National Grand Masters, and is widely considered the father of freestyle yo-yoing. His signature trick is the Shaolin Sling. Dale is a former Duncan yo-yo professional, and he had even set up the Mexican division of Duncan Toys. He is married to Valerie Krantz. He also invented the regenerate trapeze trick, as well as the behind the back catch offstring trick. He was the founder of the American Yo-Yo Association, as well as its former president. He was also the founder of the modern-day World Yo-Yo Contest in 1992, of which he was the winner, as well as the developer of the Science of Spin educational program.
