The Metal Drifter by Duncan is a metal yo-yo released in 2010 as part of the De-Luxxe series. It is a metal version of the cancelled Drifter yo-yo.

The Metal Drifter, which debuted at the 2010 World Yo-Yo Contest, is an aluminum Butterfly-shaped yo-yo, much like the Metal Zero, but with a slightly smaller diameter, and a lower price tag, too. It comes with a small A-bearing for long spin times, and recessed Friction Sticker response.
Because of its retail price being around $30, it was one of the least expensive metal yo-yos on the market, and usable for performing beginning- to intermediate-level tricks. It also comes included with a collectible skull counterweight, giving owners the option of using the yo-yo for 5A play.
The Metal Drifter can also be made unresponsive for more advanced tricks by using a dry or string-centering bearing, such as KonKave or Center Trac. Compared to most other yo-yos in the De-Luxxe series, this is the easiest on the user's wallet.
The sides of the axle hubs each have a small cap, which can be unscrewed to replace the bolt and nut to allow for wider or narrower spacers to be used. This is not present in the second version of the yo-yo, whose weight was reduced from the original and used Silicone Sticker response. However, the removable metal caps returned in the third run.
Up until the release of the Freehand Al in 2013, the Metal Drifter, along with the older Metal Zero and the very expensive Freehand Mg were as good as it gets when it comes to an official full-metal version of the acclaimed Freehand.
