The Torqave (Japanese: トルケーヴ) is a metal yo-yo designed for Bandai's Hyper Yo-Yo line by Duncan, released in Japan on February 12th, 2014.
Description[]
The Torqave (pronounced "tor-cave") is an advanced aluminum yo-yo developed by Duncan and licensed to Bandai for the Hyper Yo-Yo line, alongside the Yomega Stavity and the YoYoFactory Acronizer. It is a yo-yo for professional, unresponsive string play, boasting a three-angled Step-Straight body shape, with the third outermost step having a narrower angle, in addition to a KonKave C-bearing from Dif-e-Yo, silicone SG Sticker response, and compatibility with the Freehand Zero's side cap system. In the Spring of 2014, the Torqave was released internationally as the Torque.
Trivia[]
- The yo-yo's name is a portmanteau of "torque" and "wave".
- The Torque having been based on the Torqave was mentioned in Duncan Toys' 2014 NY International Toy Fair catalog. However, the Torqave was not referred to by name.
- The Torqave, along with the Yomega Stavity and YoYoFactory Acronizer, were the first metal yo-yos in the Hyper Yo-Yo line seen in a long time, since the Hyper Dragon (when equipped with the Heavy Metal Body).
