YoYo Wiki

The Rainbow is a yo-yo produced by Goody in the 1950s.

It is considered the crown jewel of the Goody line of yo-yos, which came in a black color, sometimes with a gold stripe on both sides of the yo-yo. On the face side of the yo-yo, seven different colored rhinestones arranged in a six-pointed star pattern adorn the face. The colors of the rhinestones vary with each yo-yo.

Unlike other manufacturers at the time, Goody drilled the jewel holes after the yo-yo was painted, so the user can see bare wood around the edges of the jewels.

It is listed as #630 in Lucky's Collectors Guide to 20th Century Yo-Yos.

Replica[]

In 2000, Royal released Limited Edition replicas of the Goody Rainbow, which were limited to 2000 pieces, each of which came with a certificate of authenticity. Each yo-yo is stamped with a number on the back side.
