The Recreational Device 1 (RD-1 for short) is a yo-yo first released by Tom Kuhn in 2001, as the first model in the RD series. It is made of laminated wood with metal hubs containing the ball bearing axle. Of course, it also has Dr. Kuhn's proprietary Turbo Disc response system. Its most defining feature is the metal weight rings that can be inserted or removed from the sides of the yo-yo.
