The Titanium Dream is a yo-yo first released by YoYoFactory as a limited-production model at 150 units. A crowdraising campaign to develop the yo-yo was started in March 2015 at IndieGoGo, with an intended $20,000 USD target. The crowdraising campaign raised over $50,000 USD as of the middle of April 2015. All 150 yo-yos shipped from China in June 2015.

100 more units (50 in Brushed Silver, and 50 in Entry Blue) were given a wider retail release on July 17th, 2015.

Description[]

It is YoYoFactory's second titanium yo-yo after the Ricochet, featuring a Step-Straight profile with rounded edges. While titanium is a lighter metal, it is stronger than 6061 or 7075 aluminum, so it can be machined very thinly. This allowed YoYoFactory to machine the inner walls to be thin, while adding weight to the rims for longer and more stable spinning. It also features a steel axle, a Center Trac C-bearing, and new prototype teal CBC pads for the ultimate performance.

Using a titanium axle, by even YoYoFactory's own advice, is not the best idea out there. Why, you may ask? Because it would cause the axle and yo-yo's body halves to chemically bond together, making it impossible to take apart. In addition, because the yo-yo is made of titanium, it can make sparks if the user walks the dog with it over pavement.
