The Synergy is a yo-yo by YoYoJam. A few prototypes were sold at the 2008 World Yo-Yo Contest. It was developed as their answer to the hubstack technology used by YoYoFactory, by adding very wide (in diameter) ball bearings in the halves and mounting plastic rims onto them. The result is a yo-yo that can be grabbed during play, not just by the axles, but by the outer rims, thus making a whole new range of tricks possible.

Since 2008, the Synergy had not seen any large scale release. This is due to the uneven weight of the bearings in the rims. As a result, the prototypes were difficult to control during play and the issues were never ironed out.

Trivia[]

  • Auldey did produce a Blazing Teens yo-yo called the Photon, which implements a similarly-styled plastic-rimmed bearing cap configuration.
