Hey guys - Wikia is trying a new experiment with getting new people to edit pages. What we want to do is change the Edit bar at the top of pages so there's a simple tab around "Edit This Page", which will make it stand out a bit. The idea is that this will make it more eye-catching to users who aren't as familiar with the Monaco look as some of you are.
This can be a amazing forum and with any luck , you'll be able to help and also help me.

Like I say, this is an experiment. What we want to do is take the data from, say, the past month and compare it against a two-week trial period where we'll have the Edit tab active, and compare to see if there's a change in the number of viewers editing pages. We want to use Yo-Yo, since we need info from a new Toys wiki, and you guys have a lot of traffic through here. You can see an example of how it looks in use on Muppet Wiki.
I am looking for rare and special toys and games created following gaming characters. If you know of any can you answer this particular subject to tell me about them? I'm building and gathering unique gaming toys.

*It’s not a bad idea to get more edits. I looked at the difference between the buttons when I was logged out and it didn’t seam that much different. I don’t know if it well work, but it doesn’t hurt to try. -- MadYoer (Communicate!) 22:39, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

Okay, it's up - take a bit to see what you think and post comments here, we'll be monitoring usage behind the scenes. Shawn (talk) 23:38, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

*I like it, it should encourage new editors. I've taken a 'before' screenshot (although from another wiki), and an 'after' screenshot for reference. I'm intrigued that you say we have a lot of traffic - would we be able to see that data please? --Wilfred(talk|contribs) 09:05, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

I'll see what info I can get, but you really just have to take a look at your Recent changes log and compare it against some of the other wikis in the Toys hub. Shawn (talk) 17:02, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
