YoYo Wiki

The Gorylla 616 is a prototype yo-yo developed by HSpin in 2008 for research purposes.

Description[]

The Gorylla 616 is a yo-yo developed by Christopher Kayatz as part of a series of concept yo-yos designed for researching the physics and behaviors of varying bearing sizes and string gap widths. This unique yo-yo features a 4 gram ball bearing that is 16mm in diameter (larger than even the bearing used by the YoYoJam Big Yo, no less!) and 6mm in width, in addition to a wide 6mm string gap. Both of these traits are what lead to the 616 in this yo-yo's name.

According to Kayatz himself, throwing down the yo-yo "is a bit like buying a 21-gear bike after riding a 12-gear bike for twenty years". The research data acquired from the 616, as well as the other Gorylla prototypes, proved to be valuable. The 616, along with the other prototypes, were sold at the 2008 World Yo-Yo Contest to Infinite Illusions, and to YoYoNation at the IYYO.
