The Coral Snake by Henrys is a yo-yo and a modified-shape companion to the Viper, first released in 1999. The Coral Snake uses Henrys' adjustable string gap and the AXYS System interchangeable axle technology, in which case it uses the Speed Explosion axle, which has a ball bearing for super-long spin times. Besides the shape, the biggest difference between the Viper and the Coral Snake is the built-in response system that the latter has.

The response system on the Coral Snake is a metal negative starburst using positive/negative pressure technology. This makes the Coral Snake one of the very few yo-yos to use a metal starburst response system. The positive/negative pressure, combined with the adjustable string gap makes the yo-yo great for both looping and 1A play. This response system was also the subject of a legal disagreement between Playmaxx and Henrys, with the former seeing the response system as having infringed upon their reverse starburst system, leading to the development of the ProYo Mongoose, which is compatible with the Viper and Coral Snake's rubber shells.

Trivia

  • The first batch of the Coral Snakes, which was distributed at the 1999 Midwest Regionals, had a production error in which the engraving was put on the wrong side of the hubs, so the yo-yos were sent back and the engraver had put the engraving on the right place, as well. Some say that this makes the yo-yo more responsive or eat up string quicker. Doctor Popular also happens to have one of these first-release Coral Snakes in his possession.
