The Trick Assassin is a yo-yo originally produced as part of the Black Mamba line, and later the PhatYo range. It was first released in the early 2000s in Australia.
This top of the line model has a slimline butterfly profile with metal rims, and "Cookies", a kind of rubberized response pad with teeth on them. It was advertised that there are 120 different response settings for these pads. It also featured a plastic concave sleeve over an ABEC-5 ball bearing.
For a brief period of time, it was imported to the United States, but sales ended, due to the yo-yo (along with its counterpart, the Blue Angel) violating several U.S. yo-yo patents at the time. As of current, Spintastics and Yoyoplay are the only known companies in the U.S. to distribute the Trick Assassin.
