Quote from SCUBA Steve: "The Saturn Experiment yoyos were pretty cool and meant many sleepless nights trying to refine the concept, but I could never make them handle slack tricks or whips very well. I made a total of five prototypes with various configurations. Each version had strengths in some areas, but would always compromise play in another. In the mean time, I've started to produce high end aluminum yoyos for the public under the company name Saturn Precision Yo-Yos (or SPYY)."

The saturn experiment banner

The Saturn Experiment was a yo-yo with an internal mechanism that permitted multiple layers of string in the gap without slowing it down, but still returned to the hand with a simple tug. The project saw five prototypes being made and talks with a major manufacturer in the yo-yo industry. Unfortunately, the “Experiment” was kept top secret and never released to the public.

I made a total of five prototypes with various configurations. Each version had strengths in some areas, but would always compromise play in another. In the mean time, I've started to produce high end aluminum yoyos for the public under the company name Saturn Precision Yo-Yos (or SPYY)."
