The Nobunaga was Sengoku's first yo-yo product. It was pre-released at the Japan National Yo-Yo Contest in early May 2015, with a wider retail release on May 15th, 2015.
Description[]
The Nobunaga is a high-end bi-metal yo-yo, made of 7075 aluminum with stainless steel weight rings on the rims. The weight rings make up more than half of the yo-yo's physical weight, making for an extremely heavy weight distribution to allow for a powerful spin and incredible stability. Being slightly undersized plays to these particular advantages, with the smaller Step Straight shape making it fast and maneuverable on the string without sacrificing any sliver of performance.
Sweetening the deal even further, is that the yo-yo comes stock with a YoYoRecreation Double Straight (DS) C-bearing, handmade silicone IrPads (19mm OD/Large Slim size), and Kitty String for competition-level performance straight out of the box.
However, the Nobunaga does not come in any box, as boxes are easily damaged. Instead, it comes in an elegant drawstring bag. The drawstring bag is made of a moist, water-absorbent material that keeps the yo-yo dry, along with a nylon interior to prevent specks of cotton or dust from getting onto it. On the sides of the yo-yo are two laser-engraved designs, one for the company logo, and the other for the Nobunaga's logo.
The Nobunaga is limited to a total of 200 pieces, 50 in black, 50 in purple, 25 in gold, 25 in red (YoYoExpert edition), 25 in blue (Rewind edition), and 25 in emerald green (a second Rewind edition). The reason being, that Sengoku not only wants their yo-yos to be high-end, but also limited.
Trivia[]
- The Nobunaga is named after the legendary warlord, Oda Nobunaga (織田信長), who along with Toyotomi Hideyoshi and Ieyasu Tokugawa, initiated the unification of Japan during the Sengoku period, after which the company was named. Nobunaga himself, who is also known as the "Demon King" due to his ruthlessness, was regarded as a great warrior and strategist, conquering more than a third of the Japanese territory.
