A relatively simple slack whip and a good way to start learning the basics of slack play.

Step 1: Pinch the string with your free hand. Swing the slack (the segment between your throwhand and the pinch)... |

Step 2: ...upwards... |

Step 3: ...over your free hand wrist ... |

Step 4: ...and whip it down, so that one strand is caught in the gap. |

Step 5: As soon as it catches... |

Step 6: ...pull the string tight. |

Step 7: Now swing the yo-yo up over your free hand... |

Step 8: ...and pinwheel around your throw hand into a Trapeze. It is important to go around the throw hand, otherwise you will literally wind up (pun intended) with an extra winding in the gap. |
