Based of the plastic body of the Tigershak, the Spintastics Maelstrom is a ball-bearing yo-yo with a metal concave sleeve pressed onto the bearing. The sleeve is meant to keep the string riding right in the center of the gap to allow maximum spin time, and give less wear to the friction stickers. An o-ring spacer setup is included and can be adjusted to your liking to the problem of misaligning the bearing groove.
