The Super Fire Dragon (超速火龍) is a roller-bearing yo-yo produced for the Super Yo-Yo line of yo-yos. It is among the Professional level yo-yos in that line, and is also released as a Limited Edition along with the Super Aqua Dragon and Super Dragon Ball. It shares the same characteristics as the Super Dragon Ball.
It is a clone of the Yomega Hyper Warp, which features a flat modified shape, and a metal roller bearing for longer spin time.
Variations[]
Professional (Non-metallic Sticker)[]
The sticker on the front has a dark blue colored background with rainbow rays, and a picture of Nakamura Meijin. The sticker on the back is colored yellow, and has the word "超速火龍" written on it along with the words "SUPER YO-YO", with a fire-breathing winged dragon on the background. Both stickers are protected with clear plastic lens. It includes a small size K (4 x 8 x 3mm) bearing with spacers similar to those of the Yomega Hyper Warp. However, the body of the yo-yo is only loosely based on the Yomega Hyper Warp (the biggest giveaway being the presence of clear plastic lens, which the Hyper Warp didn't have, as well as the lack of screws inside the yo-yo), and is much, much lighter.
It is packaged already assembled in a typical early 2000's Yomega-style packaging, like most yo-yos in the Super Yo-Yo line.
Special Glow-in-the-dark Editions of this yo-yo also exist.
Criticism[]
- Because the gap between the yo-yo halves is too wide, it's very difficult to control the yo-yo when doing looping tricks. The gap width couldn't be adjusted either; Using thinner spacers would only introduce play between the nuts inside the yo-yo and the yo-yo body. Thus, this variation of the yo-yo is not a very good one.
Limited Edition (Small Bearing)[]
The stickers on the front and back are now a shiny gold color. On the front, the image of Nakamura Meijin is different and is looking to the left. The sticker on the back has a Chinese dragon on it and has the words "SUPER YO-YO" on the top, and "超速龍球" written on the bottom. It includes a small size K (4 x 8 x 3mm) bearing just like the Professional version, but with spacers of a different shape than those used in the Yomega Hyper Warp. This time, the body of the yo-yo more resembles the Yomega Hyper Warp, only modified inside to accomodate the different spacers, and using a different type of plastic. It is also about the same weight as the Hyper Warp.
It is packaged with the two halves of the yo-yo disassembled, probably to make the presentation resemble the packaging of the Bandai Hyper Dragon line of yo-yos.
Limited Edition (Large Bearing)[]
The stickers have the same gold color, the pose of Nakamura Meijin is the same as the Small Bearing edition, but the back is only slightly redesigned. Aside from the sticker design, the bearing is a larger size A bearing, and has a different set of spacers. It is packaged in similar fashion to the Small Bearing edition.
Both Limited Edition versions gained popularity among yo-yo players in China and Southeast Asia as a yo-yo with decent performance.
Trivia[]
- It is loosely named after the Bandai Hyper Dragon Fire, which was featured in Super Yo-Yo as an upgrade to the Bandai Hyper Dragon.
