Wooden Monarch yo-yos are made of exotic hardwoods, and often come with a coin inlaid. Very beautiful, and very heavy, these yo-yos play very nicely with a great natural wood feel.
Tom Holmes began making these yo-yos in 1988 after being inspired by watching the Smothers Brothers T.V show. He has been selling them on the beach in Santa Barbara since 1990.

The Process[]
He starts with select boards and mills them to 5/8 in thickness. He than uses a saw to cut the circles and drills the axels holes. Finally, he put them in his lathe to shape and pollish them to perfection.
