With the YoYoFactory FlyMaster, F.A.S.T. takes on a new meaning with FULLY ADJUSTABLE SHAPE TECHNOLOGY, which means the FlyMaster yo-yo can change from a regular string trick yo-yo to an offstring yo-yo. Designed by YoYoFactory and distributed in the United States by Hasbro, the FlyMaster is a 2-in-1 kind of a yo-yo, with a ball bearing axle and two choices of rims: Small plastic rims for traditional 1A play, and larger rubber shells for offstring play. The rims are held on by plastic hubs that screw onto the center posts. The first batch of hubs were notorious for popping off of the hubs when the yo-yo bounces off of the ground, and YoYoFactory started providing a set of better-quality hubs with every FlyMaster.
The FlyMaster is no longer in production, because YYF decided that it was unfeasible to design a yo-yo that could not stand up to the rigors of Offstring play. Their rationalization was such that all offstring yo-yos are going to hit the ground, and over time this will cause them to break. YYF did not want to produce a yo-yo that they knew was going to break from extensive use. However, the interchangeable rims concept did return in the Pocket Change, which is essentially a purely 1A version of the FlyMaster.
In late 2014, after repeated customer requests, YoYoFactory resumed prototyping for a new all-plastic offstring yo-yo. Prototypes were presented publicly in December 2014 at the Las Vegas Open Championships, and in early February 2015, the yo-yo's name was announced, called the Flight, which was officially showcased at the 2015 New York Toy fair, followed by a larger retail release in March 2015.

An upgraded version of the FlyMaster, the Offstring is sold by YoYoFactory in some Southeastern Asian and European countries. It comes with the better hubs pre-installed.
