The Hype, Fad, and Hoax yo-yos by YoYoFactory were essentially identical to each other, except for the name printed on the inserts under the side caps. There was a limited production of under twenty yo-yos, made as the prototype models of the Grind Master.
While they have the same body as the Grind Master, the aluminum was left bare and did not receive the low-friction teflon coating. A majority of these yo-yos were given away as prizes or gifts in the middle of 2004.
