The Nightmare is a yo-yo produced by YoYoFactory, first released on Halloween 2015 at 10:00 AM (EST).
Description
When one makes a bi-metal yo-yo, they shouldn't just slap some stainless steel rings on the sides of an aluminum yo-yo and expect it to perform well right out the gate. Fact is, it takes plenty of technical refinement and experience to make a well-built and effective bi-metal yo-yo. In the case of the Nightmare, YoYoFactory had gotten a lot of things right.
The Nightmare's construction consists of a Step Straight aluminum body with overhanging stainless steel rings that are wrapped over the edges and down to create maximum spin stability and capture more rotational energy. This steel rim placement gives the Nightmare a really beautiful weight distribution and an amazingly fast and stable feeling in play. The Nightmare also features 19mm silicone pads from CBC and a string-centering Center Trac bearing.
While rather light at 64.3 grams, the Nightmare's precise weight placement allows it to perform on the level of heavier throws, allowing the player to transition much faster through complex trick combos with "frightening" efficiency.
