The Ai is a yo-yo produced by YoYoJam as a signature series model of six-time concurrent World 5A Champion Takeshi Matsuura.
Description[]
The Ai is a bi-metal yo-yo, whose construction consists of a light aluminum body with brass rims, similar to the Night Moves 5. Takeshi Matsuura was heavily involved with the yo-yo's development phase, putting his knowledge and experience into it. For the end product, he settled for a two-stepped, low-edged shape that reduces sleep loss and is versatile for 1A, 3A, and 5A. It has a fixed string gap, but the user can adjust it by adding in specialized Tez shims. Using the standard YoYoJam shims would only create a gap between the body and the bearing, thus the recommendation of Tez shims.
The Ai also features a pair of mirror caps that are each broken into two flat steps, making for aesthetic impact, especially when the yo-yo spins. It also features the standard guts for any high-end YoYoJam yo-yo of the time; silicone O-ring response and a dry Speed Bearing for unresponsive play.
Takeshi Matsuura himself had used the Ai to compete at the 2010 World Yo-Yo Contest in both the 3A and 5A Divisions, taking 4th and 1st Place respectively.
