The Mini Mo-Tu is a YoYoJam signature series yo-yo of Mo Chavez and the successor to the earlier Mini Mo-Trix. It was first released in 2004.
This is a small Butterfly-shaped yo with the typical YoYoJam construction of a plastic body with outer brass weight rings. It weighs in at 69 grams, and sports O-ring response, and the standard YoYoJam large bearing. It is also smaller in diameter than the original Mini Mo-Trix, along with the weight rings being thicker for longer spinning. Plays responsive out of the box, but if you prefer to do more advanced tricks, a drop of YoYoJam thin lube will make it nicely unresponsive, winding up tightly with a backspin bind.
The pre-production models of the Mini Mo-Tu were first sold at the 2004 U.S. National Yo-Yo Contest. They were recalled, due to an issue with the connection between the plastic and metal components of the yo-yo body being raised and having a sharp edge as a result. Several people had cut themselves in the fingers when returning the yo-yo to their hand. The finalized release of the Mini Mo-Tu had this problem fixed.
