The Speed Maker is the second YoYoJam signature series yo-yo of Hiroyuki Suzuki. The yo-yo is an all-plastic version of the Speeder, much as the Lyn Fury is an all plastic version of the Hitman. It is in the same shape as the Speeder, but lacks its weight rings. Because of this is is significantly cheaper and has become a popular choice for beginners who want to work on string tricks without having to pay $40 for a yo-yo.

Picked this yoyo up as my second yoyo after the YoYoJam Lyn Fury. I was pleasantly surprised. The shape was not appealing to me at first, but it later grew on me. The Hybrid response system can be grabby at times, but when worn down plays just fine. Suicides and Lacerations were fun on this yoyo. Suicides especially considering the Hybrid response system helps keep the loop open. However, this yoyo is not the most stable one out there. Its lack of rim weight contributes to this and makes for a yoyo that is so close to feeling solid, yet never quite gets there. If you are a fan of the YoYoJam Speeder shape and wish to find a nice pocket yoyo, get it. Get one, see if it's your cup of tea.
